SHLED · FACADE LIGHTING SOLUTIONS
Facade Lighting Synchronization & Dynamic Programming
Modern landmark facades often combine LED mesh, point lights, linear lights and wall washers. The visual result depends on whether these different systems can operate on one coordinated timing and control architecture.
System layers
Protocol roles
| Protocol | Typical SHLED application |
|---|---|
| DMX512 | Architectural point lights, linear fixtures, wall washers and floodlights |
| SPI | High-channel-count LED mesh and dense pixel media systems |
| Ethernet / UDP / TCP-IP | Network-level distribution, remote management and system integration across large buildings and multiple control zones |
What synchronization enables
Cross-system scenes
Media content and architectural lighting can share timing so the building reads as one visual composition.
Zone control
Different elevations, towers or architectural elements can run independent content while remaining synchronized.
Scheduled operation
Projects can switch between daily architectural scenes, event programs and special content.
Remote updates
Networked systems can support content upload, diagnostics and parameter changes without local reprogramming.
Design control before cabling
The control topology should be developed during system engineering. Pixel count, universe/channel count, controller capacity, network distance, cabinet locations, fiber conversion, power zones and maintenance access are interdependent.
A building-wide show is not created by adding more effects. It is created by giving every lighting layer a clear role inside one control architecture.
