SHLED · FACADE LIGHTING SOLUTIONS
Installation & Maintenance Planning
Installation strategy determines whether a facade lighting system is practical to build, commission and maintain over its lifecycle.
Before procurement
Structural interface
Confirm the primary structure, secondary steelwork, brackets, anchors and allowable movement before product quantities are finalized.
Wind & building movement
Facade height, local wind conditions and structural movement can affect mounting details and cable routing.
Power & cable routes
Plan power zones, voltage drop, conductor size and control cabinet locations before the facade is closed.
Water management
Ingress protection depends on fixture sealing, connectors, cable entries, drainage and field workmanship working together.
Recommended project sequence
Commissioning checklist
| Stage | Typical checks |
|---|---|
| Mechanical | Alignment, bracket torque, cable strain relief, tension and service access |
| Electrical | Voltage, polarity, grounding, branch protection and voltage drop |
| Signal | Addressing, mapping, communication stability and fault isolation |
| Visual | Color consistency, brightness, optics, content alignment and glare |
| Reliability | Burn-in, waterproof checks, connector inspection and environmental readiness |
Design for maintenance from day one
Technicians need realistic access to fixtures, cable joints, power supplies, controllers and network equipment. On a high-rise, bridge or difficult landmark structure, a small maintenance mistake in the design stage can become a major operational cost later.

Reliability Validation
A facade that is easy to install but impossible to maintain is not a good system design.
